      Pros

      Decent training. Lots of experience and tips due to high volume. Nice not to have to worry about commission or hustling your own clientele. It must be the most money you can make right out of the gates as a stylist.

      Cons

      Overworked. Always short staffed, at all three shops I've worked at. After 8.5 years, my biggest challenge is how fast I can get people in and out of my chair without them noticing how many corners I've cut. The customers don't care anyway, most are only there for a cheap quickie-- not artistic, just maintenance. I actually started making higher tips per customer when I gave up and started cookie-cutting.

      Pros

      Great co-workers, good tips, generally busy, clientele overall friendly, management is super cool and will try to be as flexible as possible with your schedule.

      Cons

      Working evenings and weekends, but that is salon life.

      Flexible schedules, 401k, health, & dental benefits, bonuses (based on salon performance, base wage with poetional to hit commission on service & product sales, fun friendly & welcoming environment for employees/customers, continuing education for growth in the industry, professional career growth with Great Clips (depending upon your franchise)

      Cons

      Haircutting exclusive so if you enjoy other services in the industry (chemicals, waxing, updo styling) this is not the place Franchised salons, so salons are ran differently.
