Pros

Hourly wage is great especially when you’re not having a busy day. Productivity for more haircuts per hour adds to your paycheck. Had a great clientele at my old location. Can be a fun environment depending who you work with

Cons

Time off is rotated and not guaranteed. You will work weekends. They expect everyone to be full time and if you can’t be then they don’t work with you on your schedule. I have seen people deducted hours painfully low (how are people going to provide for their lives when hours are cut) as punishment. Micromanaging where it isn’t needed. If there is a problem with staff they are more loyal to whoever has been there longer or has better numbers. You will be a work horse. You can be replaced instantly and they are not afraid to let you know that. Hours are grueling.

Pros

Flexible schedules, 401k, health, & dental benefits, bonuses (based on salon performance, base wage with poetional to hit commission on service & product sales, fun friendly & welcoming environment for employees/customers, continuing education for growth in the industry, professional career growth with Great Clips (depending upon your franchise)

Cons

Haircutting exclusive so if you enjoy other services in the industry (chemicals, waxing, updo styling) this is not the place Franchised salons, so salons are ran differently.
