Pros

First of all, I must assess that the working environment, culture, and colleagues mostly depend on the team, customer, and the solution you work on at Ericsson. So in one team you can have so much free time and have a perfect work/life balance and in another team, you may end up working on an everlasting project with demanding customers asking you to work on the weekends. Overall there are several benefits of being an Ericsson Turkey employee: 1. A good private insurance including complementary health care, dental, and eye care 2. Mobile phone reimbursement which refreshes every 2 years 3. Working from home furniture support 4. Internal relocation opportunity - this does not essentially mean you can relocate anytime you'd like but rather you have a slightly greater chance to do so. 5. Good office atmosphere and large space

Nonetheless, like every employer there are also some drawbacks you will possibly encounter: 1. First and foremost, if you like your job -in this case it's "software development"- and aim to improve yourself every day, this is not the place you're looking for. To give a few examples; a. As far as I observed, every project is almost identical to each other and literally all about customization and orchestration of other Ericsson products. This may lead to a solution-specific role and is incredibly damaging to your career. b. There is no culture of clean coding, separation of concerns, unit-testing, etc. c. At some point, you will probably work on some spaghetti code and intertwined logic that remained back in the 2010s. d. No agile principles, no utilization of JIRA. You would repetitively report to your supervisors for the same task once every week. 2. Ericsson Turkey does not provide a clear career path for its technical crew. You simply cannot follow a software developer-based role in the long run. Eventually, you would want to switch to roles such as project manager or line manager type to both increase your salary and survive in the company. 3. The leadership team sometimes makes sudden and unexpected decisions and does not prioritize employee well-being. For instance, after working for almost 3 years fully remote, they asked employees to visit offices 2 days a week and caused a huge disturbance. 4. Salary. I believe this is an arguable topic but everyone agrees Ericsson pays less worldwide. Considering the workload and the assignments, I would say acceptable for people that do not prioritize careers. 5. If you are a competent developer, you will probably have difficulty working on your tasks and become an "ask-him guy". 6. There are lots of arrogant, big head senior employees that try to interfere with everything and give directives randomly even though they are irrelevant to that part of the process. 7. Lack of recognition and appreciation. The amount of effort you put into your work will be underestimated. Get used to it. 8. Frequent organizational structure changes. I think this is related to headcounts since the company tries to lessen costs by reducing the number of people working. 9. The current economic situation is not bright in Turkey so it also increases turnover rates as a natural consequence.

Pros

-Technological superior to most other companies with use of AI and promising future tech/programs -benefits and pay are very competetive -room for professional growth and advancement if you know how to work in a corporate environment -resume development and professional advancement

Cons

-leadership ideology doesnt match the company/CEOs mission statement or belief (company is said to be all for safety yet leaders get put in charge and quickly dismantle and lay off 3 quarters of the safety department) -Leadership changes structure to benefit themselves by having all support functions report to them instead of the CEO, this ensures all support functions take a back seat to production and financial gain to include their employees well being -Company restructured and reorganizes very often while showing no loyalty to the employees who work hard and want to stay, this leads to turn over of great employees.
