Pros

Extremely well organised, structure and vertical. There are clear and transparent rules for career progression within the company. There is very mentoring culture toward the younger generation, support and flexibility to specialised in different areas. There is a genuine interest in developing talented analysts.

Cons

It is a challenging environment for experienced professional with complementary skills that joined Ernst & Young at the middle management. The scope of activities within the areas are very well define and lateral thinking (other call it “out of the box thinking”) is not very common. The company, because of its accounting auditing culture, tends to be overcautious and risk averse. The company offers good ground for professional development if you think you are an structures “by the rules” professional, but less attractive for more creative professionals.
