Pros

Does wonders for your resume. It's like serious boot camp for your career. Loads of training/technical development. A ton of intelligent people to learn from constantly. You are always being challenged by both senior management and the clients.

Cons

Same as with all big 4. Long hours with very little incentives. You're essentially on your own and HR is not useful as in a typical company. The pay does not compensate for the work you do, but there's delayed gratification in how much you can make when you leave. Very little work/life balance for those looking to raise a family and have a life outside of work.

Pros

I'm love technology and EY makes excellent use of it. They stay current and provide a stable, easy to use infrastructure to get the job done. EY provides excellent benefits and time off. I love the 4 day weekends. I can honestly say that my management is flexible and understanding when you need them to be.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations. Will work you like a dog. The performance management process is brutal. You have to write goals, then before you know it, your midyear is due...what wait...Annual is right around the corner. At last, time to rest, oh wait, your goals are due. Like I said Brutal!

Pros

Ernst & Young name lends credibility to your CV Generally very decent and friendly people to work with

Cons

Very poor communication from Executive Team (UK) Feedback and performance management processes hugely flawed Poor reward, recognition and retention of staff - high turnover of employees - massive talent drain, especially amongst juniors and trainees - lack of incentive/promotion or meaningful opportunities means that anyone vaguely ambitious has to look externally for career progression
