Pros

Good work-life balance. Advancement opportunties.

Cons

If your not based in North America or UK - then can be significantly more difficult to get ahead. At senior mgmt level - form over substance seems to win. Issue at the front line do not seem to make it up through the food chain. Promos seem to be geared to UK/US

Pros

The bank is very competitive in mainland China. If you want to learn more about banking business and do not care about heavy workload, go ahead.

Cons

The compensation is varied greatly according to different levels. It is difficult to get promotion. So life there is a little bit hard

Pros

It's a quality operation. The people are generally first-rate, HR functions properly, pay and benefits are good. If you need something you can generally get it.

Cons

As with any bank there are politics to contend with. Compared to many other banks, though, it's got a real emphasis on scrappy meritocracy.
