Pros
Great collegial atmosphere !! Like anywhere, if you know the right people it can be the best place to work. It is not an overly uptight culture, although every crowd has its clowns!! I have personally worked with some extremely smart and professional people over the years. In fact, I have developed some strong relationships and live long friends and could not ask for more from a collegial point of view. Also, I have gained some really broad experiences and worked across industry. I can safely say, I accomplished most of what I wanted out of my first job!
Cons
Very big consulting firm, too many moving parts. Not the most organized. I am extremely disappointed with the new crop of industry hires that Deloitte has been hiring. Perhaps it is due to a competitive industry, however, I dont see how some of these people made it past the first round of interviews. There is sometimes a lack of management oversight on a project, and the consistency of quality delivery has unfortunately varied. Review and rating process is inconsistent and varies with the counselor and project manager one is assigned to. I consistently recieved strong ratings, yet at the end of my 2nd year, I made a little more than a new hire BTA with no experience. Please explain to me how this is fair.. I would imagine that a company this reknown on helping others, would be able to take care of its own people.
