A great company when viewed from a high level however you experience will depend on how your department is managed.

When I joined Deloitte I was in a well managed team and was given a great chance to learn and develop my career. With the workload so heavy I quickly developed good working relationships with my colleagues which was based on a common committment to excel and succeed. Once you start to develop your internal networks and experience what it is like to work in different departments or teams you quickly realise that whilst there is global policy relating to staff it is really managed at a local level. This means that if you work in a team where the managers do not want encourage personal growth or want to keep costs low then you can miss out on training courses, qualifications and many of the benefits that other people in other teams have access to. Again i have highligted other points that take away from the positive reputation of the company - Too many places to hide for those that do not have a strong work ethic - You have to play the game to get ahead - Some very poor managers as a result of the above
