Pros
The firm is filled with smart people.
Cons
As part of the Federal practice projects can last anywhere from 6 months to multiple years. There is no work life balance, and little encouragement/support from Senior Leadership on taking time off. The firm does nothing to recognize or show that they appreciate their staff - the used too but since the "integration" with Bearing Point this fell off of the map. In regard to the integration, there is an us vs them mentality. The firm has done very little if nothing to standardize the staff's experiences from either side. Its easier to leave the firm and work somewhere else for a year and then come back in at a level and salary range that you want, than it is to be promoted from within. No standardized evaluation characteristics between different service lines. Way too much emphasis on not just serving your client for 45-60 hours a week, but then also on taking on internal leadership roles which add up to 10-15 more hours a week.
