Pros

Deloitte is a prestigous firm that looks good on the resume. Lot's of great people there working hard to make a difference. Good compensation and lot's of opportunity to rise to the top. Management makes a point to recogonize good people and good effort. A strong work ethic will not go unnoticed.

Cons

Like all firms, there a lot's of people that have achieved Peter's principle. Firm tends to lag in market innovation and implementation of new services. Like all firms, they over hire in good times and over fire in bad times (presummably to keep partner comp at the needed level). Many at the partners deserve their title and are great leaders of the firm...unfortunately just as many are not accreditive to the firm.

Pros

Deloitte offers lots of training, and you are developed to take accountability much faster compared to other firms.

Cons

Lots of training, but there is little time to absorb what you learn as there is constant deadline and engagements are usually understaffed.

Pros

- I've never been told that I can't do anything - whatever I have wanted to do I have been able to get involved, and if I like it and prove myself, I could continue to do more and get even more exposure. - Great consideration for personal time needed, but the business is about being client-facing and billable, and that is a very important part of what we do - Great teams and work ethic - management listen to feedback and take steps to recalibrate as needed (sometimes a bit slow though) - It's all about networking - if you're 'in' and well networked, you'll be very successful

Cons

- Remember what the business is - selling and delivering work. So the focus on these is ever-present; not bad if this is what you're into doing and you do it well, but if not ... think carefully - It's great if you want a career in consulting (i.e. make it to the Partnership or a Directorship) or if you want to learn and then exit - but know what you want ... if you don't you'll likely not be successful - Comp is on the low side relative to senior industry roles - the upside is the expectation of making it as a principal, but until then there is a bit of personal career comp sacrifice... - It's an increasingly complex firm - multiple businesses coming together to 'serve the client' - with multiple parties trying to figure out their role(s) in that model. Can seem like added risk management and bureaucracy sometimes.
