Pros

High tech industry allows you to get exposure to a unique business model . The primary focus of online custom orders for computers is something that you don't typically see in the high tech industry.

Cons

Dell is very transactional. The Dell business model is closely tied to a 90 day/Quarterly measurement period so if you are a strategic and big picture thinker you may become frustrated working at Dell. Management is typically promoted from within and the company does not put much emphasis on training/development so the new managers really struggle with understanding the basic skills of a good manager.

Pros

Pay and benefits. Use to be you had since of belonging and being a part of something. No it is a cut throat job where everyone is out to protect their own self interest.

Cons

NO LOYALTY. No career advancement. No Innovation Communication is always left me in the dark. Dont know what is happening until after it starts or finishes.If you like ambiguity and constant change you will succeed.

Pros

Flexiblity in how you run your Business and deal with your customers. You have the power to price your hardware, software,peripherals,( with guidelines that are reasonably defined). You control the conversation and the work sheduled does favor time off with your family. (SMB segement) is Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, (depending were your customers are). Rewards for overachieving could be improved but they are not bad.

Cons

All accounts sets are not listed in the proper segments, some spend very little but have large employee counts and are considered to be larger than they actually spend. this needs to be addressed to ensure quotas are properly set for all sales reps. The problem is not extremely large but can cause disatisfaction among some employees.
