Pros

To be honest, I can't think of any right now.

Cons

To give you a little bit of context: The date today is the 9th of September 2020. India experienced the highest number of Covid 19 cases (90,000 - registered) ever in the world just a few days back. Karnataka is one of the worst hit states in the country, and Bangalore being the capital is one of the biggest contributors. The situation is and will get only worse from now. More numbers. More cases. More problems. More deaths. At a time where ever company - big and small - are requesting employees to work from home, Decathalon is forcing us to go back to work. To be physically present. Let me start by saying that all employees received emails from top management asking us to go back to office this week. Sports business has more touch points than any other. People walk-in and they want to try things out before buying. I live with my parents who are both 60+. I'm terrified and I have tears in my eyes as I write this. What if I contract the virus and give it to them! 'What if something happens to them?' I asked my manager. His reply was 'It's a money-money world, champ. We need those ka-chings'. This company has no empathy, no mercy. They just practice good old corporate holocaust. The cherry on top? Only Indians are asked to go back to work. The French are all sent back to France. So they can have bbqs in the sun and drink wine. How unfair is this racist system? Apart from that, they have zero employee benefits. The pay is very very very bad. They make us work for peanuts. No medical insurance. What is the HR department doing? No you're wrong! Because there is no HR department in the first place. Because they undermine Human Resource. This is a quintessential example of a place that believes in its products more than the people who make them, manage them, and sell them. The absolute worst nightmare.

Pros

Great opportunity to grow as a professional as they push you out of your comfort zone.

Cons

They never intended to hire me for the long term, this happened with a lot of other employees. They prefer to hire every 6 months because it is cheaper for them. The management culture is very to-down, a at least in my store it was, and they don't give a voice or listen to the employees as they claim.
