AVOID THIS GRADUATE SCHEME AT ALL COSTS!

Pros

- you get a free donut every few months

Cons

- Graduate Scheme could be ran by monkeys, and that's an insult to monkeys - Management are racist, sexist and bullied disabled employees by claiming they could not perform at the same level as their peers, with no hard evidence. - Former graduates received promotions due to 'personal' relationships with mid-management. Several complaints were made to senior management about a particular however it was all swept under the carpet and they continued to make people's lives hell. - Concerns were also raised by a large number of graduates to senior management about discriminatory behaviour from mid-management. 90% of the graduates who were picked for redundancy in 2017 were of an ethnic minority or had significant health issues. These concerns were again ignored by senior management, which was very distressing for a lot of people. - Managers treated their employees like 5 year olds. They made employees fill out time sheets to show when they were going for toilet breaks, then they had to make the minutes up at the end of the day. - They also decided one day to randomly extend people's probation period, pulling people (again, mainly ethnic minority) in to official meetings and telling them that they weren't performing well enough. One girl was told that she didn't speak loud enough during a presentation therefore her probation was being extended. Another guy was told that he didn't socialise enough and was made to approach 3 different people each day and speak to them for 5 minutes about his private life. Management would then take the names and email addresses of the people he spoke to and would contact them to make sure he had approached them. Not surprisingly, these people were then sacked before their probation had ended. One girl confided in management to say that she was really stressed out about the pressure she was under by having her probation extended, they then used this against her a week later and cited the reason for her dismissal as 'doesn't handle stress well'. - The graduate scheme promised a wealth of training and exciting rotations to develop as a professional. All training was banned after a few months of starting the grad scheme so no training was provided - we were left to train ourselves though 5 minute quizzes online. - Capability management had no clue about the work the graduates were doing. Even when describing basic Project Management terms to them, they started blankly at you and advised you to look on youtube for any help. - People who were young and attractive were favoured by management and got the 'good' roles. Like I said, I could be here all day rhyming off horror stories that people experienced at the hands of management but there's not a big enough word count to do so.

Pros

Flexible hours and manageable workload.

Cons

Broken and non-existent processes. Leadership is full of bean counters who think employees are their biggest liability. With the merger of HPE and CSC, the severance package was reduced to effectively 1 week notice and 1 week pay, even for employees with 10 - 20 years service! Almost all employees live in fear of being the next layoff (WFR) victim. That's no way to live! My compensation is about 25 - 30% under market value, which I believe is normal for those coming from HPE.
