Pros

Big Bucks in the bank insulate this company from A LOT of mistakes. Cisco has great benefits, a nine to five culture, very good pay, excellent market share, nice buildings, employees are generally empowered to do stuff (unless it's innovative - see below)

Cons

Absolutely no career growth (unless you want to move to India). No ability to cross over business units or get into new technologies, very static environment. Cisco generally hates people who innovate because that activity is inherently risky. If Cisco wants innovation it will go out an buy it! Mike Volpe once said that Cisco didn't need to do R&D because the whole of Silicon Valley was it's R&D lab.

Pros

Pays reasonably well...if you are not that bright, you can survive for ever in Cisco, place is full of dead weight so you'll fit right in.

Cons

Work is not interesting, people can be downright hostile, raises/rewards have no relation to the work you put in.
