Pros

I really enjoyed working at Caterpillar and the challenge of meeting and beating deadlines. I worked with a great team and learned a substantial amount.

Cons

The company downsized and was forced to lay off staffing. It was unfortunate for everyone involved. Hopefully, the industry will improve and they will build up the manufacturing facility in South Milwaukee, WI. It is another sad story for Wisconsin.

Cons

Downturn planning needs to be improved to provide better security for employees.

Pros

Caterpillar is committed to the safety and well-being of their employees. They are also committed to delivering a quality product to their customers.

Cons

Caterpillar is a cyclical company. Their different businesses do not yet provide stability in soft markets. The company needs to make tough decisions in down markets, relative to their overall employment.
