Local management was very good, Corporate withheld and misleading

Pros

Capital One compensated well. The ability to take needed time off for family situations were extremely flexible. The crash of the mortgage market did not help.

Cons

The same downsides as working for any corporate company. The meetings that resulted in a ton of work, then come to find out all that work was a smoke screen.

Pros

Decent enough benefits. Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, College Reimbursement Program. Plenty of PTO. I personally got about 180 hours a year.

Cons

Very unorganized! No one relayed information very well. Policy's would change and people would not be informed. Very high stress job in collections. Listening to people belittle you all day and hustling people for money can take a toll on your emotional state. Most of the time we ran out of people to contact after about 5 hours. They would send a lot of people home with no pay when we ran out of contacts.

Pros

For the first time in my 20 year career, I am treated as an adult. The policies in place all support the employee and their ability to get work accomplished. We are encouraged to structure our work in the manner that makes us most comfortable. Benefits are generous, and there are ample opportunities to move within the company should one outgrow a role.

Cons

I felt the base salary was low, but I was switching gears somewhat, which makes it hard to judge. Other than that, I haven't found any downsides -- I'm DELIGHTED here.
