Pros

My job was extremely rewarding and I have genuinely enjoyed it for many years! The employee/sample sales used to be great until about 5 years ago, but now they don't offer quality for good money anymore. The company provides free meals for those who work in the Head Office, but it's not nothing fancy and the portions are very small.

Cons

Company management feels rotten with nepotism, It seems that all management positions in IT are being filled with "old mateys" of senior managers. This also means that the management often makes seemingly incompetent decisions and later on, instead of admitting a mistake, throws loads of money to patch the solutions that were never fit for purpose. The engineers are struggling to use outdated solutions on a daily basis. I haven't noticed any career prospects, at least not in the IT - over the years only a very few people were promoted to more senior positions - and often without a payrise offered. Over the past 24 months, there was a huge exodus of engineers and managers, who were really good at their jobs and cared for the company. Like every high fashion brand, the company requires staff to work a lot of overtime (sometimes 16+ per day, 15+ days in a row) around new launches, but they dont offer any compensation - its basically work for free (or time in lieu which not always can be taken back) .

Pros

Staff sales, discount, and opportunity to earn through commission incentives

Cons

Dog eat dog ideology Staff members would sneakily change a sale from your name to theirs so they could take commission Managers were extremely harsh You would be aggressively reprimanded for being 3 mins late (due to a train delay etc) And never praised for being 45 mins early and doing tasks on behalf of the whole team every other day of the week (restocking, standards, opening tills, organising etc) Awful holiday and rota structure: being made to work 9 days in a row so that you could “earn” the time off you wanted the next week Managers were just rude in general, would sit down all day on their phones but would have a go at you for stopping to get some water
