Pros

Great culture, smart people, excellent benefits, awesome training, no manager (yes, has concept of Career Manager who helps you grow within the company professionally, they are more like mentors/friends and do care for people whom they mentor). As this is consulting firm, managers are more project based. Over all great people to work with. No serious complains. You work hard/smart and eventually get rewarded.

Cons

You might spend periods on bench (without project... but not a big issue) as Avanade is very picky about the projects and do not sign up client by lowering rates just to win (i guess that's Pro actually). Might end up doing lots of travelling (this is pre-condition before joining usually for most positions, unless otherwise clearly stated). Based on project, may end up working long hours (who doesn't now a days)

Pros

Market to above market salary. Great benefits.

Cons

Implemented a regional model in which staffing is to occur from the region as opposed to cross territory means less opportunities/projects that meet your skill set or passions become available. Corporate policy that you will be laid off if you are on the bench for more then 3 months even if you just finished a couple of year project. The great training opportunities that they preach during hiring is much less then what they advertise. The two weeks of training that they sing praises about is nothing more then two weeks of utilization time that you can right off of any bench time. They don't send you on training or classes unless your in on one of their clicks or if you get lucky! The management style is completely off base as your manager is not someone who you work with and get to know. You can spend a year or two proving yourself doing all kinds of great things and the only thing your manager knows is the one or two things that you did good/bad etc. The company is very "clicky" if your new good luck with getting on the decent projects you go into the pool to be staffed and the project owners grab the same guys that they always work with for their next project. Overall its an Organization about who you know and who you don't know. Additionally, they give far too much power and creditability to far too many Directors. This needs to be greatly redone and environment needs to be created in which you work ethics, skills and experience speak for themselves, not some some overhead management that doesn't know you from a hole in the wall. Last words, be careful, their is a reason this company is always hiring, yes they are growing but they also have excessive management layers that like to exercise their power.
