Pros
Fun atmosphere, small gym makes for stronger connections with members. Tons of assistance and guidance from corporate to franchise owners and club managers. Ability to have fun with the club culture and make creative ideas to improve retention.
Cons
There is no room to grow once you hit the management level in a single club. The only opportunities are becoming a franchise owner or moving to Minnesota and working at the headquarters.... brrrr.... Because of the small size of the clubs the owners aren't able to pay a decent wage. Typical are part-time positions at an hourly rate that would be around $10-$15/hour. You work solo most of the time because there is no need to have a a lot of staff. There is a lot of data entry and operations tasks to handle. Perfect position for young adults in college who need a job while in school or an in-between job for some extra money.
