Pros

Getting to solve technical problems at scales that do not exist elsewhere. Working with some of the smartest people on the planet

Cons

Amazon can be a bruising environment for those that are not used to having their ideas challenged. This criticality is not always a bad thing but this idea of questioning everything often causes more problems than it solves.

Pros

The company is innovative and fast paste. I am glad that I chose Amazon as my first full time job. Easy to move around the company and change roles.

Cons

Amazon is pretty frugal and it doesn't give you perks. Depending on the team you could work long hours.

Pros

- Work on very cool projects and have an impact on the company - Very intelligent and competent employees - Good mission/vision that is communicated across the company - Opportunities to move in the company and work with different teams and projects - Great company to work for if you have limited experience and want to learn a lot very quickly

Cons

- Work/life balance is virtually non-existent: expect to work at least 50-60 hours every week and more during the holiday season - Employees tend to get burnt out after 1-2 years and turn-over is high - Amazon management is hit or miss; some managers are excellent while others are constantly under water and struggling to manage their teams - Limited professional development opportunities: Amazon is very frugal and does not like to pay for training or conferences - Limited ability to change systems or processes that are hindering the company
