Pros

An average talented, french colleague of mine, who just graduated grand ecole and became a puppy of the senior manager, was promoted to the team leader position just after two years of working there. Literally, no techical skills and no experience not only on a managing position.

Cons

A very talented friend of mine, that was a foreigner with rich experience and astonisnishing techical skills, got frustrated of lack of knowledge, back whispering and the immature behaviour of the co-workers and management, that considers questioning and discussion as an attack on their position. After working as a consultant with absolutely no chances on promotion, he decided to join back the previous company.

Pros

Come if you like to have loads of free time. Come if you don't like to work and see results. Come if you like just to survive and progress nowhere. Come if you like sunny places.

Cons

Come to Amadeus if you like to be picked on, put down, ridiculed, yelled at, patronized. It will happen, they have no idea how to behave. Come also if you like to be treated like a criminal and being refused to be told the reason because "you should know". Come if you like to be betrayed, lied to, being taken advantage of. Come if you like to be stuck at the same position for years doing the same mundane thing over and over again. Come if you after completing a Master's degree in CS and some developer experience would like to be put at the same level as a Management graduate and being evaluated by a Biology graduate without a coding experience. And being disrespected and ridiculed by these people when discussing work. Seriously, ANYONE can call themselves software engineer at Amadeus! It's unbelievable. Come if you like to be stuck living in a small town in the 1950s - 1980s where nothing works reliably, and nothing happens fast. And enjoy your small pebble beaches! Come if you like living among people pretending to be rich, famous and important in free time while working a low level corporate job for meager money and not being able to afford going out to have a drink once every Friday or Saturday.

Pros

Amadeus adds a sense to the famous sentence of Shakespeare "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy". I have never expected a company like Amadeus might be for real.

Cons

As Amadeus is a big joke I can't write seriously about this company: Once upon a time, in a far away country, there was a company, forgotten by engineers, skills, knowledge and healthy working environment. The company was ruled by a caste, that was blocking any promotion of a non-french persons. The ruling caste spent most of their time on internal games, and lying around. They were also hunting for naive, newly graduated IT students to make them slaves and calmly apply to any order they get. Actually it didn't have to be IT students, it could be whatever, if it was called grande ecole. And then in the IT company you could meet people from Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Biology... But the lowest level were contractors... The contractors should be happy the company allowed them to breath! The slave works in two modes: fixing bugs in a spaghetti code, or eat lunch. Don't dare to talk to your lord if you are a slave! He may decide to cut your head! You are given your paddle so sit and row to move the galley! It doesn't mother you bring them a moto-engine to move the galley way faster, with half costs! Progress means problems! You are thrown away from the board into the sea, to be eaten by sharks!!!
