The role changed between interview 1 and 2 from having line management responsibility to being an IC role. This gave me an indication that the team didn't know what they were looking for. There was no real structure to the second interview and they seemed to be just passing to each other for further questions which they were making up on the spot. There were a lot of red flags for this role. They talked about the person in this role 'solving all their problems' without acknowledging issues in their working process. They also explicitly mentioned several times the expectation to work late to meet deadlines. This is a given in these type of roles but to explicitly call it out in an interview made me feel there would be unhealthy work environment.
