The mock pitch is where I, and I suspect most otherwise qualified candidates fail. Do yourself a favor and go through your mock pitch dozens of times with a partner until it's smooth and flawless. They will want to see you go through the process, convey value, and secure a close. In my case, I had been out of work for a while and was rusty. I did not prepare enough and flubbed the sales pitch. It cost me the job. I know as a sales guy your temptation will be to just "wing it," but please understand that a mock sales presentation feels quite different from a real sales call. You cannot expect the client to ask the appropriate questions because they are just rank and file employees role-playing a character, so you need to really be on your A-game. I personally did not enjoy the experience of the mock pitch at all, but it is the most important part of the interview process for all their sales jobs.
