What do you do if there is a miscommunication between you and the client over email?
Pretty much what I would expect. My experience in hiring/onboarding, firing. FMLA, LOA. How I have responded or would respond when dealing with situations like harassment, etc. Employee engagement was a big part of the role, so being asked for examples of how I have dealt with that in the past. How I've dealt with managers that have frequent complaints from employees. The line of questioning was pretty much what I would expect for the position. I gave multiple examples for everything asked. I've been in an HR Generalist role for several years, so I feel like it would have been a pretty seamless transition.
What did I want to get out of the role?
Give me a brief synopsis of the analysis report you wrote for us. (There was a strong indication the interviewer had not previously read the report).
We need someone to stay longer than a year as the past holders of the position have not stayed long. Will you stay long with us?
All questions were related to my resume. One interviewer hadn't even looked at my resume before I walked in to his office.
How do you handle a situation when you have several people needing your help at the same time?
Name a time when you had to deal with a difficult situation and how did you resolve it
Standard questions: Tell me about yourself. Explain your resume. Explain your current role. Explain why you want the job and what you are hoping for professionally. I was surprised in that they presented very little of the company in the interview. They did not seem to pitch the company to me at all, or expect me to be interviewing them in return.
