total 4 rounds here is the timeline 2/24 Submitted resume (via official website application). 3/23 Received HR appointment for interview. 3/28 HR first round: Discussed job responsibilities, reviewed resume, showcased past cases, all in English, behavioral questions process. Half an hour after the interview, received another interview invitation and confirmed the time. 4/4 HRBP second round: Dug into resume details, set scenario questions and provided solutions, discussed understanding of the position (pressure situation, initially denied that my current position and job description don't match, managed to recover from it). Half in English, half in Chinese. Pushed to ask if I'm suitable for the position and how many more rounds of interviews there will be. [HRBP said the final HR round will still be conducted by them, hoping to see me again.] Approximately half an hour after the interview, received the invitation for the next round. Sent a follow-up email via LinkedIn the next day. 4/13 Business interview with the leader: All in English, discussed the industry, details, specific factors influencing functions/details, how to solve them, how I perceive them, multiple scenario questions (presented past case examples of problems, solutions, and related industry analysis), behavioral questions process. Wanted to push and ask about the possibility of the next round, the leader said [It's not solely my decision (not good), but I will discuss it with HR and the team... etc.]. Two hours later, received the invitation for the next round and confirmed the time. Sent a follow-up email via LinkedIn the next day, discussed other details and ideas related to the interview topics and received approval. 4/20 Second round with the Head of US Business: Discussed long-term development, compared industry trends with TikTok, what can be done, described the type of person I am (I mentioned I'm very aggressive at work, and he said TikTok likes ambitious people). He said we can schedule the next round. Entirely in English, with some key agency names in Chinese. 4/25 Received email from HR, backup candidate, results in 2-3 weeks. 5/3 Received rejection letter.
They would conduct some portion of the interview in Mandarin. HQ based in Beijing.
