The asked me all kind of questions, technical questions about the position, how do you address creative direction, what are your thoughts on brands, how do you design and manage creative teams... to name a few. But also they were very keen about making sure that I was a cultural fit for the company.
Questions were as expected. I’ve gotten pre-read material that explains the interview process for a business role. All questions were role related. The people were all very nice, easy to talk to and while some of the questions were someone hard to answer like ‘what would I invest in if I would be able to pick a lane for Google” (paraphrasing) it was clear there were no wrong answers.
The only non-checking-facts-from-my-application question was: Why do you want to work for Walgreens?
Can you provide an example of a successful campaign you've managed
Just about my experience as it would pertain to the job
One important thing you value when searching the web.
The interviewers were primarily interested in understanding my approach to work, my soft skills, and how my values align with APCO's culture. They were particularly interested in how I handle challenging situations and how I build relationships with colleagues. Rather than a traditional question-and-answer format, the interview felt more like an empathetic discussion, allowing for a deeper understanding of my work style and personality. This approach not only provided me with valuable insights into the company's vision but also helped me assess whether APCO would be a good cultural fit for me.
They asked a lot of random questions that were not on the job description nor related to the role. I'm not sure they understood what a Creative Director actually does.
