I was called back on three occasions for an interview, two of which were with the HR rep only, which I thought was a bit odd considering I wasn't seeking a position in the HR department. In the course of our conversations, I was asked little about what I thought I could contribute to the company, and instead was given a detailed tour of the benefit package and job expectations. Then something strange, I was asked if I could work with women. (In my current position, I work with women almost exclusively, but I feel that in the end that fact is incidental.) I commented that yes, I am capable of working alongside women. Jump to the third net review with the team leaders of the department, both of which were women, and in the course of the interview, I was asked in various ways, how I got along with women, do I like women, have I ever worked around women, etc. I was not given an opportunity I ask about the day-to-day operations or expectations. In the end, I can only surmise that, at least in that department, there may be a gender issue.
