The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart (Woodstock, IL) in Jan 2008
Interview
Initiated the hiring process by walking into the store and speaking with a manager. Filled out an application and continued to call the human resources office to find out whether they had looked at the application. Eventually, since I had shown interest they called me for an interview. Interview was behavioral and consisted of about 8 questions regarding my actions in past retail situations. They also brought up any "neutral" responses that I had given on the personality test in the initial application.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Walmart (Slidell, LA) in Apr 2009
Interview
HR representative called after having to submit an application on line. Had a short interview with one manager who read from a script. Really did not seem to care what happened and that I was interrupting her day. Then had a second interview with an assistant manager. This was also a formality.
