I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Woodstock, GA) in Nov 2013
Interview
When I first arrived, I was asked to wait until a member of management called me and a few other people back into their office. We were all seated and we were given a situation and asked to explain our experiences relating to that situation. Afterwards, management sent us outside and had each one of us come in one at a time to discuss potential positions we would like to take in the store.

Interview
Step one: They say "we need to interview". You walk in, they say "sit down it's just an interview". They smile politely back at you. You stare politely right on through.
They ask a series of questions, some repeat but in different wording. The questions are simple and basic but make you think a little more than usual. You begin to wonder why you came. Let them know that you know best. Because after all, you do know best. Show them that you are the best employee they'll ever know.

Question 1
Name a time that you needed to work faster than normal to get everything done on time.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Walmart (Ottawa, ON) in Feb 2011
Interview
A very simple interview and hiring process. I had a group interview with five other people where they set up a few activities to get to know both the assistant managers and the store managers. I had the opportunity to meet almost every manager that worked in the store at that time. It was a very relaxed environment. They want to see if you can adapt to stressful situations and how you would react if certain things in the store were to occur. They were all extremely friendly. The only thing that I wasn't crazy about is the orientation after you are hired. In my store we had to stay in the back room for eight hours learning about various things again through various activities. There are also computer based learning modules (CBL's) that you must complete after you are hired. Other than that, it was one of the best group interviews I have attended thus far.

Question 1
All the questions you are asked are general customer service questions. Be prepared for questions like: "What would you do in a situation where you thought you saw someone shoplift, but do not know for sure?" or "What does customer service mean to you?"
