I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uber in Dec 2015
Interview
Initial phone screen with HR recruiter. After the screening I was sent a link to a quant test that basically tests your analytic and logistic skills. After going through the quant test they asked for a creative test that described several situations Uber is experiencing right now and how would you react or plan upon them as GM. Did not get past this stage.

Write a media statement to respond to mischaracterizations that a taxi leader shared in an op-ed in the biggest local newspaper.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Uber (Porto Alegre, ) in Nov 2015
Interview
Phone screen interviewer was a bit aloof. Analytics test was quite easy, even for someone with no business background, especially if compared to other tests such as the McKinsey PST, and included an extremely tedious Excel section. Creative test felt like unpaid work: I was under the impression Uber was really just fishing for ideas, so answering in all possible depth did not seem adequate at that point. The bar is not nearly as high as they say, however - pretty basic stuff. Process/feedback moved quite slowly. Compensation and work-life balance prospects were not attractive (don't really care for equity of a company with virtually unlimited private funding and no IPO in sight, and whose business model/ethics faces plenty of headwinds worldwide). The fact that all basic communications between native Portuguese speakers were held in English was a tad silly. Last but not least, I sensed the company expects a devotion of sorts from their employees - I got a bit of a cultish vibe that I find quite ludicrous. I'm a driven and loyal person, but fealty is something I feel no corporation deserves. All in all, not a good fit for my life goals.

Question 1
Summarize your background and accomplishments in 10 minutes or less.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Uber in Apr 2015
Interview
A long process that will be dramatic at times. At first, I had a Skype call with the Recruiter for my area for some initial screening. Right after, I was given the analytics test, which is pretty easy if you know your way around excel and did data-intensive work before (consultants and investment bankers would easily ace this). Then I was led to the launcher for the country, which I had multiple interviews with, and basically I was expected to bounce off ideas to lead to my business plan with the launcher. The next step was the creative test, which is IMO harder than what other people say. After a few other interviews with the launcher, the last step was to give a city presentation, which I was supposed to come up with a draft in two weeks, then sit down with the launcher to create a final version and finally present to the Regional GM, and Global Business Development head.
This is where it got weird, as I turned up with the draft about a week later (rather than two weeks later, so I was early). Then dead silence. About a month later I got an email from the recruiter that they would not be continuing the process with me. I asked for feedback multiple times, with no response.
I truly believe Uber is making a difference in the world, and there are extremely smart people who work at Uber that made the company what it is (a disrupter). However, the interviewing process left a sour taste in my mouth.
