Overall, the experience was pleasant until the discussion about immigration status. I hold a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and clarified that this status is non-employer-specific and does not require any form of company sponsorship. Despite this clarification, the interviewer maintained that sponsorship was a requirement later on for PR (which again is not required). Moving forward, I recommend clearly stipulating the mandatory need for Permanent Residency or Citizenship in the job advertisement to prevent misunderstandings for candidates who are legally authorized to work under programs like the PGWP or any other work permit authorization in Canada.
