The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot in Dec 2010
Interview
After applying online, I was contacted for a screening interview by phone with the central career center; this was a fairly short interview asking customer service questions (e.g., tell us about a time when you went above and beyond to help a customer). A few weeks after that, I was contacted by the store, and had an in-store interview. This interview had similar customer service questions. A few weeks after that I was offered an hourly part time position, which I accepted.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Atlanta, GA) in Nov 2010
Interview
I had a conversation with an employee, who recommended me for the job. After several weeks I was called for a formal phone interview, after which I had a 3.5 hour interview, with a panel interview, a test, a role-play, and an individual interview with the department head.
