I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target in May 2014
Interview
Arrived for appointment on time but had to wait nearly 45 minutes (one person apparently was out so the other interviewers had to pick up the slack). It was a series of three interviews. The first one was general trying to gauge your abilities to be a team member and your availability. Questions like when you were member of a team and what did you do were part of the questions. The second interview was with a Target Executive Sales Team Leader. His questioning was about your abilities and asked situational questions (what would you do if....?). Explained more of what they wanted from cashiers and whether you understood it or not. And third person was the HR executive. Very nice and pleasant interview and ended with her signing the conditional offer of employment. I then had to drive over to a nearby lab for my drug test and they began the background check. I got a call late in the afternoon about 3 days later informing me of the orientation meeting that Friday and to wear the Target uniform.
Was just a quick 10 minute call from the store manager, didn't take long at all. He asked if I had the availability he was looking for and if I could be punctual. Smooth process
It was overall very brief from applying to hearing back. Was just a day of meeting with a couple managers and talking through a cashier job. Nothing too out of the ordinary for a role like this.
It was interesting. Not hard at all, straightforward, and pretty open people. It was an okay interview and what you’d typically expect. So don’t stress stress it, I mean kinda try your best
