Interview
I applied online on their site because I saw a post for a seasonal cashier position posted on a job site and I was surprised that the next day, they called and scheduled an interview for the day after. The interview took a while- approx. 2 hours, it's my first job interview, so I don't know, but that seemed long hahaha, but it was worth it. They had me fill out a questionnaire with all these "What would you do" questions and I had 2 interview sessions- one with this very nice, friendly lady and she asked me situational questions and what my strengths and weaknesses were, what cashier experiences did I have, why did I want to work at Target and when was a time that I have taken a leadership role and went above and beyond. Second interview- the guy was more serious haha, and it kind of got me nervous, but he asked almost the same questions except he went over what times I were available, asked me some more situational questions like "If you were ringing up a customer, and the price was 19.99 but customer believes is 17.99, what would you do?" , and then sent me out to wait some more until another lady came to get me and offered me the position under the condition that I get my drug test done in 24 hours.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Albany, CA) in Oct 2012
Interview
I applied online and was called back after about one week to schedule a phone interview the next day. The phone interview was easy, and was scheduled for an interview in the store. The in store interview consisted of the same questions as the phone interview all of which I was prepared for because of other reviews here on glassdoor. The woman who interviewed me said I did a well and she said I would hear back from them within 7-10 days. I have yet to receive a response even after calling back. I'm assume they are holding out for people with more work experience than me.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Target (Cypress, CA) in May 2012
Interview
I applied online and was given an interview a few weeks later. I regret going to this interview. They were very unprofessional. The first guy who interviewed me was the team leader, he was very awkward. First of all, his face was all flushed red. He would not look at me and I noticed that he did not ask me all the questions that were on his paper, he skipped some because he seemed so nervous which is weird because that is his job. I had a second interview and the lady was really rude. She would ask me a question and stare at me with wide eyes and had this snobby look on her face. She did not try make a conversation with me she just remained quiet the whole time.. would only ask me the questions and that's it. I never heard back from them,. This is my local target and I shop there frequently. A few days later I noticed they hired a lot of new people and I was not impressed at all. They hired a guy who was very slow at cashiering, he would not greet customers and he would stare at girl's bodies as they were making transaction. I also noticed they hired a lady who was all decked out in tattoos and she was very rude. I don't know why decided to hire these kinds of people. I just feel like the whole process was a very awkward experience. If you are a normal, smart person, do not apply here. They only seem to hire people who aren't all there . Every time I shop here and see the manager/team leader who interviewed me, they avoid me and do not look at me. most of their interview questions start with "describe a situation" they ask about 7 of those questions.
