I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Slack (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2015
Interview
I applied to Slack via their website. A few days later, I received an email from a recruiter to set up a phone interview with the hiring manager...we never spoke on the phone. About a week later, I had the call with the hiring manager. One of his first questions was if I had already had a phone call with the recruiter...and I got the sense that he was disappointed that I did not speak to her first. The rest of the call was far from an engaging experience...he asked questions, I answered & he moved on to the next topic. No conversation, zero pleasantries. It was like a technical interview right off the bat. I guess they assumed there was no need to sell me on working at Slack. It was about a 15 minute call. I would say it wasn't a complete waste of time as now I know that the company isn't a good fit for me. A shame since I'm a big fan of their product.
