The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Shell in Oct 2009
Interview
The interview lasted roughly 1 hour. The first half of the interview was your basic behavioral questions and I've actually interviewed twice now for the same position and each time they just asked me to pick one thing on my resume that I was most proud of and then they asked about 30 minutes of questions about it.
Then second part of the interview is something that I never experienced. They will let you choose between 3 scenarios (mine was how do I think businesses communicate globally) and Shell uses this system called "CART" to grade you. Under each letter there are about 6-8 things that they are looking for in your responses. Good luck.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Shell in Dec 2007
Interview
I received a phone call a few weeks after applying online. I had a phone interview, very structured. I was asked a lot of team work and leadership questions, and then I was given the choice between 4 topics, and asked many questions about it. The second interview was all day. It was a lot of team work, they give you a case study and one hour to read it and analyze it and then you have to present your findings and answer a lot of questions.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Shell in May 2008
Interview
I was initially contacted by a headhunter (on retainer) for the role. I had an initial in-person interview with the headhunter and then went on site for a 1:1 interview with the hiring manager. That same day I also had 3 interviews with the my would-be peers.
