I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Shell
Interview
It was an on campus interview and they had interviews the next day. I didn't get an internship but they did invite me to do a Shell Recruitment Day next year. Shell took a while to respond (months), but it is a large company so I was not too worried. Pretty standard behavioral interview.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Shell in Oct 2012
Interview
Online application on the shell website, followed by a phone interview lasting around 30min. The entire process took about 2 months, involving 2 or 3 successive emails from the HR telling us to wait and that the interview date will be confirmed in due time. Good thing is that you will be informed within 2 working days if you have been rejected after the phone interview.

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Shell (Singapore) in Jan 2013
Interview
Phone interview followed by assessment center. The assessment center had 3 rounds for commercial positions: 1 individual case study, 1 group case study and 1 business scenario. The HR at Shell Singapore were very nice and thoughtful to provide a mock training session to level the playing field.
