I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shell (Houston, TX) in Mar 2015
Interview
It was great, I was applying as a student intern for my senior year of high school. They brought us out to the site and provided us lunch. We got to network and meet supervisors and other employees that were willing to provide us an insight of what it would be like to work for Shell. Everything was done in an orderly manner.
Our course year group was sent an email about a junior internship opportunity in the Netherlands with Shell. I applied online, went through online screening tests, then phone interview. I interviewed with an HR person from Germany who normally dealt with graduate programs/assessed internship for Eastern Europe (she originally thought I was interviewing for an assessed internship). The interview consisted of standard 'scripted' questions and an unscripted part where I was able to ask questions about Shell.

Question 1
At Shell, we are sometimes faced with issues when working within a team. Tell me about a time you had to solve a conflict / how you did it
Thorough comprehensive competency-based interview. The process itself took ages from submission of application to receiving an interview offer. They took forever to get back to me about my interview status before finally rejecting. It would have been better if they expedited the process and informed applicants of their status promptly instead of leaving them clueless.

Tell me a time you worked with people from different cultures to achieve a goal.
