I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Shell in Oct 2007
Interview
Typical graduate candidates are interviewed on campus and, pending qualifications, flown to Houston to participate in a two day interview process called Shell Recruitment Days (SRD). Each SRD consists of 8 to 10 people, typically of different college majors and from different universities. The SRD process is mainly looking to see if a candidate meets the personable and team working skills requirements that Shell highly seeks in its employees. Critical thinking and business prowess are assessed, albeit secondarily. Technical knowledge, however, is not assessed; Shell recruits from a list of universities known for producing candidates with the required job skills to work in the business.

Question 1
What is something that you have accomplished that has defined your leadership abilities, style and success?

Interview
I was away on the suggested day of their interview and they were unwilling to reschedule or to do a telephone interview. This shows how little future employees mean to them and that they are just trying to fill a quota by interviewing as many random people as possible. Many other companies are more than willing to reschedule or compromise interview dates.
