I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Meta (Englewood, CO) in Sep 2021
Interview
I got the recruiter interview through a referral that led me to the interview with my would be hiring manager. Prepped for 3 days for this interview and the would be team manager barely looked me in the eye while he asked me very mundane high level questions. He was sending emails and not listening to my answers but said he was taking notes. I’m not an idiot I could tell he wasn’t paying attention to me. 20 minutes in after 2 high level entry level questions (nothing specific to our vertical or product) he finally looks me straight in the eyes and apologizes again, stated he was taking notes. This interviewer was never going to take me seriously from the beginning. Then he describes the position, I express my interest and he answered some of my questions. I ended the conversation repeating why I was confident I was the person for the job and I thought it went well but a few days later I got the old “this job isn’t in your skill set” bs email. Not in my skill set? You didn’t even ask me about my experience or knowledge in the area we were discussing. He wasted my time and I had prepared for that interview for not only days but a lifetime. Asked the easiest questions like I was being interviewed as an executive assistant. I am insulted by how much this person did not take me or my interview seriously.
When I look back at the interview, I will report to the recruiter that this manager didn’t even take me seriously, didn’t even look me in the eye and was sending emails while I was trying to connect with them.
Recruiter call, phone screen with SPM, full loop in MPK (prior to Covid). They pay for the hotel and all expenses related to travel. It's cool to see the campus and get a feel for the team you'll be joining
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta (Londra, Inghilterra)
Interview
It was the best interview process I have ever encountered. From start to finish it was excellent. Sad I didn’t get the role but hoping to work with Facebook in the future as I could relate to its core values and have been dreaming of working with Facebook from day 1 of the recruiting process.
I thought I gave my best but sadly it wasn’t enough. Got to the virtual on-site interview and my recruiter was always in touch throughout the process.
