Recruiting and Hiring Manager screens at Meta are scattershot with different departments reaching out at different times. Screens are straightforward and sometimes lead into a more complex series of pm interviews assessing product sense, analytics, and so forth. The experience can be a bit disjointed when getting recruited for a specific role and then dumped into a generic process.
Very bad experience
Interviewer didn’t show up and I reached out to HR immediately. I got a response after 2 weeks to reschedule it , at this point I gave up !
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Meta in May 2022
Interview
Recruiter, then two interviews together, then three interviews together. It all depends on your interviewers.
Product execution was great. He made it like a conversation, answered questions, defined assumptions, etc.
Product sense was horrible. He didn’t even introduce his background, what he even did at Meta, only his name. He asked me to create a product to solve the “problem of climate responsibility.” I asked several clarifying questions (as Meta’s own resources encourage you to do) and he answered “whatever you want” to every one. Why not ask me to design a product to solve world hunger or create world peace while you’re at it?
I emailed the recruiter and exited the process after this. I don’t want to work for a company asking impossible questions just to disqualify applicants.
