I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kraken (Parigi) in Oct 2024
Interview
Pros: interview process straightforward, feedback after each round
Cons: agreed on a minimum salary expectation from the 1st conversation as a condition to move forward, after a full round of interview process which lasted 1 month, I was offered a package which was 20k less than the amount from 1st conversation, because "non direct experience in the energy industry" - I was quite confused because this information was clear on my CV from the get go.
Low balling at last round is not professional, other industry experiences not considered is not reasonable. If they told me this salary from the start, I would have said "thank you, but no" - I guess waste of time on both sides.
It's a shame since I really believed in their mission and culture. But I guess interview process could be looked like as a reflection of the "chaotic side" they mentioned in their culture.

Interview
One of the smoothest interview processes I've ever had.
First phase was an initial touchpoint with the Talent Adquisition person, where the expectations from both sides were stablished.
The second part was an interview with 2 future peers to talk about the company and the candidate's background. I felt that this interview also contributed as a cultural fit.
The third phase was a technical challenge in Python to do it on your own, with an estimated completion time of 3h.
The fourth, and last, phase was a review of the proposed solution along with technical questions about the reasons behind each decision, and open to hear alternatives for more production-ready scenarios. In this case there were 3 interviewers in the call.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The Python technical challenge was about ingesting some data in a specific way and do some analytics on the results. The questions were about the reasons behind each decision. Also, they asked for alternatives to the simple provided solution (it was a challenge done in 3h) more oriented to a production-ready environment.
The interview process was smooth and well-organized. Everyone involved was incredibly nice, friendly, and professional. They created a welcoming atmosphere, which made the experience comfortable and less stressful. Throughout the interview, the team was responsive, providing clear and concise answers to any questions I had, and they did so quickly. Their professionalism, combined with their friendly demeanor, made for a positive and efficient experience overall.
