I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan in May 2011
Interview
I applied for the position online then I had a phone interview, which was followed by another call to schedule a 1:1 interview with the Branch Manager. After the phone call I received an email with details about the interview process. I arrived on time to the location however the branch manager who supposed to interview me was not available at the time since she was call to another location. I had to wait until somebody made the decision and the assistant branch manager interviewed me. The interview was easy, he went back and forth asking questions about my previous work experiences and my studies. There were couple basic questions about customer service and why I am interested to work for JPMorgan Chase. At the end of the interview the assistant branch manager told me that I was over qualified for the position and he would recommend applying for a personal banker position.

Interview
I applied online and had to take an assessment test. I took Citi's and BofA's too and I thought Chase's asked the hardest situational/personality questions. About 5 days later, I got a call from the actual branch manager setting up an interview for the following week. I guess I skipped the phone interview part because the day of my actual interview I got an email saying Chase would like me to set up a phone interview. My actual interview went decently well I think. I was interviewed by 3 people at the same time. I wasn't really nervous and just felt comfortable to talk about my idea of customer service and the teller job and my experiences. I did have to role play and try to refer an account to a customer. At the end I was kind of concerned since the job was for a bilingual speaker and I am not one. She told me that she had 6 other interviews but she was hoping to make a decision by tomorrow. My interview was also pretty short (abt. 20 min.) so when I didn't get a calll the next day I assumed I hadn't gotten the job and they were just friendly interviewers. The weekend passed and then on Monday I actually got a call from Chase offering me the job and ALL the steps for pre-employment. Overall, an entire month process! But the 2 weeks of unemployment knowing you have a job felt like a vacation :)

The interview went very well and the manager was so impressed with my responses, at the end of the interview, the branch manager told me i was over qualified for a teller position and he will recommend me for a banker position since i am well grounded in sales. Few days later, i received a call for an interview with the district manager for a personal banker position. i am yet to attend the interview. i am keeping my fingers crossed.
