I have some feedback regarding two of the interviewers present during this interview named X and Y.
X
- X did not value me as a candidate. She did not give me a chance to introduce myself and she transformed this interview into an interrogation.
- Every time X did not understand my accent, she would ask one of her team members about what I was saying, rather than just asking me to clarify. I don't know about you but that is a very condescending behavior with definite hints of racism.
Y
- Y wanted to give off the vibe that I'm beneath him by answering my questions with a different question. This just made a straight-forward question into a convoluted mess of egotism entirely orchestrated by Y.
I have had a number of interviews over the years and this was among the worst I had ever seen. It would be understandable if IBM was a new company and did not have proper interview processes set in place. Since that is clearly not the case, this is absolutely unacceptable from IBM!
I'm not really surprised that some people don't even bother applying to this place. I definitely wouldn't if I wasn't desperate for a job.
