I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Great Clips (Windsor, CA) in Oct 2015
Interview
They ask you to do a male and female hair cut, they want to see if you can do a Clipper cut and a long haired haircut with layers. They then watch you perform both and check your work
I applied online. I interviewed at Great Clips (Raleigh, NC)
Interview
They talk to you and ask little questions about your skills or abilities they except you to cut hair in 10 minutes which one is crazy to me and unprofessional this is why people continue to return for bad service
We are sorry that this was your experience. If you would like to share more, please email Jeanne@greatclips.com with the salon location & details. We will forward it to the franchisee for you. Thank you.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Great Clips (Yucca Valley, CA) in Apr 2018
Interview
I applied twice, the first time I was turned down due to cutting quality/time (I was fresh out of Cosmetology school), both times were great experiences.
I submitted an application & resume in person and was able to schedule an interview within 1-2 weeks. Once you complete the interview you are to perform 3 haircuts (usually popular cuts) in the preferred time 15 minutes. The quality of the cut is more important than the time but over 30 minutes is frowned upon.

Question 1
Of all the skills you learned in the Cosmetology field, which is your favorite and why did you chose the field?
What do you do when there’s no customers? (She said “what do you do when there’s nothing to do” so I mistook it as her asking about my hobbies at first)
Our cutting system and advised haircut times are based of years of customer data we have collected showing the optimal time it takes to complete a quality haircut. Every customer deserves a personal experience and more time may be need with some to be sure that happens. Clearly other take less time. We appreciate your feedback.
