Interview
I applied online and received a call back from the manager the next day. I went in the following day and was inteviewed and brought two people with me and did hair cuts on both of them for my skills test. I was offered a position and accepted. The atmosphere in the salon was quiet and uncomfortable. The stylists didn't acknowedge me and were all very quiet while working. I assumed they were all just concentrating on their work. The application and interview process was pretty easy and fast.

Interview
I send in an online aplication and resume. The franchisees called the shop and told the manager to interview me. It was very casual. The manager "apologized for looking so unkept." (which she did.) I had submitted a resume, but was required to fill out an application and take a personality test. (apparently, I was HIGHLY employable in the personality dept.) She assured me my inexperience wasn't a problem, that the company offered training. She reassured me "I'd get it." The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff seemed generally "happy" to be there. She swore she LOVED the company. I told her I would have to get her extra information she wanted for one of my references, and she said, "That's OK...I won't check them, anyway." I shared a few personal things about my "philosophy about overcoming hardships though grounding myself in something greater than myself, and that faith was a big part of my life, but I didn't need Sundays off for "religious reasons." in my interview. She then introduced me to the pastor's wife who worked there and said, "This is _____ and she has the same values that YOU have." I thought she was presumptuous, unprofessional, inappropriate and a complete idiot to be honest with you.
