I applied online. The process took 7 months. I interviewed at FDM Group (Leeds, England) in Jan 2023
Interview
I applied in January-Fabruary 2023, did a phone interview, video interview, online assessments and then an assessment day which was a series of 3 x 15 min interviews with different people from FDM. the intervewing process was farily straight forward and pretty average difficulty. In march i got a job offer and i was told a start date would become available May or June.... July comes by and they keep telling me 'soon', 'soon'. 'We currently have no placements, please be patient'. August comes by, I am told that the start date could be this year or next year, they don't know! Fine, not in a hurry to start so can wait. End of september I get a call to say they have a start date... in less than 4 weeks! Not even enough to work a notice period. On top of this, they wanted me to go through new online assessments and a full day of face to face interviews in Leeds Office! 'because the tests are available for 3 months only and some of the employers changed their entry requirements' (despite them delaying my start date) for 7 months!) So my options were do the tests or if not they withdraw their application, or do the tests again and hope I get a job offer again. Completely unprofessional, not serious and imagine how they would behave once you're hired if this is how they behave before! A lot of sweet lies for nothing. What a waste of my time, effort and talent. I should have listened to all the negative feedback I've read and heard. All true!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Telephone interview, video interview, online assessment, assessment day online interviews
I was quite straight forward without much focus on the technical side of things. More about your background, understanding of the company and interest in tech. Also a brief explanation on the 25 month fixed contract that the company requires.
Starts with a phone call to prequalify you. Then, there is a technical assessment module that gets sent. It’s timed and if you pass it, you get a call for the next stage
