I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at EY (Nuova Delhi) in Mar 2011
Interview
Hired through ICAI placement, the whole process was awesome as it took 1 hour to offer a job. First they get into GD where it was a group of 10 people each and then 3 were selected who were interviewed later by HR people. Post that, couple of technical rounds.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at EY (Atlanta, GA) in Jun 2011
Interview
All day interview, with 6 people who I would be working with. From manager, senior manager, to area managing partner. Scheduled for about 20 minutes with each person, when done you are handed off to the next person. Schedule will get shuffled a few times.

Question 1
Asked very technical tax questions, including quizzing me on the spot on certain obscure code sections and revenue rulings. Some behavioral interviewing also.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at EY (New York, NY) in Jan 2012
Interview
I was referred to EY by a friend and former coworker as an experienced hire. I applied through the website, was contacted by their HR department and flew to NYC for my interview. I interviewed with a senior manager, an executive director and a partner. The interview questions mostly focused on my prior work experience. Everyone seemed very intelligent, friendly enough and highly ambitious - so very New York City. I was somewhat "sold to" on opportunities I would have to help them upgrade their technology to be paperless but this did not pan out as these decisions are made only at much higher levels.

Question 1
I was not asked any tax technical questions or other hard interview questions. I was mostly prompted to talk about my prior work experience which I did not find difficult.
