I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Discover (Riverwoods, IL) in Feb 2015
Interview
Is there an interview process? You spend more than an hour filling out their online form and then your application goes into a black hole. Are they just collecting data to make salary and benefits decisions? Previous interviews were completely botched. The HR rep was not part of the interview process. Getting through security was a hassle, there is no one to greet you when you get in the building and one of the interviewers did not have the appointment on their calendar. After all the interviews there was no follow-up.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Discover (Riverwoods, IL) in Aug 2014
Interview
After working for 6 months as a contractor in the team a full time position was created to replace my contractor role. As a contractor I had to go through the same process as an external candidate (which I already did when I first stated as a contractor).
resume screening, phone interview with the recruiter followed by 2 rounds of interviews in which I was interviewed by the hiring manager, her boss, ber boss's boss but also by potential co-workers and internal partner/clients.

Question 1
We expect more from a full time employee than a contractor. We know you can do the job what else are you bringing?
