I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Discover (Madison, WI) in Mar 2014
Interview
I was referred to this marketing internship by a mutual contact. The hiring executive emailed me about two weeks after she received my resume and scheduled a phone interview for the following week. Phone interview was about 30 minutes long and talked to one woman who was very personable and engaged. She emailed me about three weeks later for the decision.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Discover (New Albany, OH) in Feb 2013
Interview
The Feel when you walk in the door is very welcoming. Of course, i was nervous due to it being an interview and who is not just a tad uncomfortable at in interview. The HR lady called my name (Stephanie Long) and she took me into a decent sized office and we had small talk and then worked our way into "on The Job" questions. There were a set of about 9 flash cards and she told me to separate them into 3 different categories (no right or wrong answer). She then gave me a tour of the building and it seems as though she was observing the way i interacted with other employees and how i reacted to the environment. When we went back to her office, another lady by the name of Stephany joined us and basically went over when the other Stephanie and i talked about and asked me about schedule preferences. Once that was over Ms. Stephany asked me how i would like to join the team at discover and i accepted the offer. You really just have to be yourself, let them know you are customer based and are looking for growth or Career Advancements. Smile, have a positive attitude, and dress nicely. In the back of your mind keep telling yourself "YOU GOT THIS" and relax.
